HVAC energy
You can look forward to that.
As a plumbing and energy graduate, you work with technical solutions that make buildings function stably, safely and energy-efficiently. You learn to install, adjust and optimize systems that provide heating, water, ventilation and indoor climate – and you are trained to find precise solutions that both save energy and protect the environment.
The education gives you a solid technical foundation, where you combine practical work with pipes, metal and energy installations with measurements, calculations and troubleshooting.

How the training takes place
You start at Techcollege, where you get a practical introduction to pipe installations, materials, measurement technology and safety. In the workshops, you practice assembling, adapting and installing systems, welding and soldering, working with ventilation and understanding how the technology works in practice.
You also have general education, where you learn the theory behind plumbing and energy solutions - e.g. science, mathematics and understanding of materials.
You will then do an apprenticeship in a company. Here you will learn to plan tasks, collaborate with other craftsmen, and create solutions that work in real buildings for real customers.
Everyday life in learning
Everyday life offers many different tasks. You adjust pipes, inspect installations, diagnose faults, make service visits and measure your way to adjustments that make homes and businesses more energy efficient.
You will also be trained to talk to customers and advise on how to make the best use of their installations.

Here you focus on installation and service of water, heating and sanitation.
You work with, among other things:
Water and drainage installations
Welding of plastic and steel pipes
Sprinkler system
Intelligent sanitary installations
Operation, maintenance and energy optimization
You learn to advise customers and take climate and sustainability into account in the solutions.
Plumber and HVAC
Here you work with sheet metal work and roof and facade solutions.
You will learn, among other things, how to:
Manufacture and install roof and facade cladding in copper, zinc and aluminum
Working with seam work on roofs, dormers and spires
Restoring historic buildings
Working with slate and flashings
TIG welding of copper
You also have basic knowledge of water and heating installations and can perform minor plumbing tasks.

Here you specialize in ventilation and indoor climate.
You work with:
Installation and service of ventilation and air conditioning systems
Adjusting air flows
Refrigeration system (up to 2½ kg)
Management and regulation
Calculating energy savings
You will receive, among other things, a VENT certificate and a category II refrigeration certificate.
As a plumbing and energy graduate, you work with installations that supply homes and businesses with water, heating, ventilation and energy.
You learn to install, service and optimize technical systems so that they function efficiently and energy-efficiently. Energy optimization and sustainable solutions occupy a large part of the education.
In basic course 2, you will gain basic knowledge about pipe installations, energy systems and technical systems. In both the basic course and the main course, you will work in the school's plumbing, energy and plumbing workshops, where you will practice methods and techniques in practice.
You also have classroom instruction in, among other things:
Mathematics
English
Science
Environment and sustainability
Electrical engineering
Technical data processing
Business Informatics
In addition, you work with:
Installation and assembly
Welding and soldering
Management and regulation
Ventilation technology
Energy technical installations
Materials science
Safety and working environment
Project management
Customer service
As a plumbing and energy graduate, you can work in the installation industry with everything from residential installations to larger energy systems.
You also have the opportunity for further training, e.g. for:
Automation Technologist
Construction coordinator
Operations Technologist – Offshore
Energy Technologist
To start the main course, you must have an apprenticeship - also called a training agreement.
An apprenticeship means that you are employed as a student in a company and enter into an agreement about your education. This is where you learn the subject in practice and become part of a workplace.
You can apply for an apprenticeship with companies yourself, and the school will guide and support you in the process of applying and contacting companies.
If you do not find an apprenticeship immediately, you have the opportunity to receive school training if the education is offered with school training.
School-based training means that you complete the practical part of the education at school instead of in a company. Here you work with the same professional goals and competencies that you would otherwise learn in an apprenticeship.
This means that you can continue your education even if you do not have an apprenticeship from the start.
A vocational education is divided into two parts: basic course and main course .
The basic course
The basic course is the first part of the education and takes place at school.
If you come directly from 9th or 10th grade, you start with Basic Course 1. Here you spend the first half of the year being introduced to the educational field and learning the basic subjects and working methods.
If you do not come directly from primary school – or if you already have an apprenticeship – you start with Basic Course 2. Here you work purposefully with the education you have chosen and get ready for the internship and main course.
The main course
The main course is the part of the education where you alternate between school and internship in a company.
This means that you both receive instruction at school and learn the subject in practice at a workplace.
To start the main course, you must have an apprenticeship (a training agreement) with a company.
There are three ways to meet the entry requirements:
1) You have an apprenticeship
If you have a training agreement with a company, you automatically meet the admission requirements.
2) You meet the grade requirements
You must have:
Passed 9th or 10th grade
At least 02 on average in both Danish and mathematics
Passed the primary school leaving exam
If it has been less than a year since you finished primary school, you must be assessed as ready for education and submit your study choice portfolio.
You must send your diploma with your application.
3) Entrance exam
If you do not meet the requirements, you can take an entrance exam.
If you apply for Basic Course 2, you will need to attend an interview before you can be admitted.
