Coherent and Motivating Career Path - from primary school to higher education (SMK)
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT?
North Jutland Vocational Schools have gained extensive experience from previous collaboration projects regarding challenges and opportunities for implementing a vocational education. Based on these experiences, the purpose of North Jutland Vocational Schools is to support the vision of the North Jutland Region with the following efforts:
Start a new story about the career path from primary school to vocational training to further education. Here, new activities are desired that are aimed at: 1) developing our new story 2) making our story come to life among counselors in the municipality and in primary schools, so that we can support a strengthened transition to vocational training. Recruit more students from primary school with a new story about the opportunities of vocational training 3) to strengthen the transition to further education.
To create collaboration models, methods and tools between vocational schools and higher education institutions, at UCN, with the aim of promoting transitions from VET to higher education.
To initiate cooperation and competence development courses for supervisors and/or teachers at the North Jutland vocational schools to create coherent and motivating information and bridge-building courses for the student group. In addition, increased cooperation with supervisors at UU and Studievalg.
The project thus aims to focus on the career path from primary school to vocational training to further education in order to draw attention to the fact that with a vocational training you have ample opportunity for further development and admission to higher education and to increase motivation among students.
