Quick action for well-being - HITT

project-description

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT?

Many young people are unhappy in today's Denmark, which makes it more difficult for young people to complete an education. The project focuses on creating close cooperation and knowledge sharing between the students' resource persons, including teachers, counselors, contact teachers, SPS and mentors, etc., to ensure the student's well-being and have a preventive effect. The purpose of the project is to test data-informed efforts through well-being measurements from the students, with a view to increasing well-being in the best and fastest way possible. The project thus expects that more young people will thrive in the education programs and ensure the successful experience of having completed an education.

WHO IS BEHIND?

Projects are financed by the North Jutland Region.

WHICH COURSES ARE PARTICIPATING?

The schools' students in both GF1 and GF2, as we want to investigate possible differences in reasons for dropout with a view to solving them. This applies to the individual student as well as at class level and regardless of whether you are young in GF1 or a little older in GF2. Students from all Techcollege's programs participate.

THE PROJECT IN NUMBERS

Total project budget: DKK 2,857,143.

The North Jutland Region Education Fund is co-financing DKK 2,000,000.

Techcollege's total budget: DKK 1,320,291. Of which self-financing: DKK 396,087.

Project period: 01.06.2023 – 01.05.2026

During the project period, approximately 5,000 students and over 250 classes will participate in the well-being measurements and efforts.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE PART OF THE PROJECT?

Micro-measurements and feedback: Initiatives are developed and tested to increase well-being among students based on continuous micro-measurements and well-being interviews to ensure that the individual student as well as the class are taken care of.

Action plans/initiatives: Based on the challenges that emerge in the micro-measurements, initiatives/action plans, also called Action Cards, are mapped and prepared, which can be used to quickly intervene in certain types of dissatisfaction and thus have a preventive effect. In addition, workshops and competency development will be held for knowledge sharing and inspirational presentations to equip resource persons to handle the challenges.

Student-oriented activities: Activities for students that, among other things, strengthen the community between student and teacher, as well as teaching activities on topics that can help students with everyday challenges.

Evaluation: In order to obtain a fair evaluation, each activity is evaluated, including, for example, each Action Card, etc.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT?

With the project's efforts, we want to achieve the following results:

Find out where the challenges are in terms of student dissatisfaction and dropout

Increased collaboration among resource persons

Competence improvement of resource persons

Develop concrete action plans that require quick action and thus increase well-being and thereby reduce dropout among students

Strengthened relationship between students and resource persons
