From experiments in the physics room to professional drone footage

Rasmus studied Robotics, where he quickly found his place among like-minded people with a passion for electronics, engineering, and science.

“One of the best things about HTX was that we got to work with what we learned – not just read about it,” he says. “Especially in the technical subjects, it didn’t feel like school at all. We had fun while we were building and experimenting, and that made it all much more real.”

The practical approach and the professional immersion made the teaching relevant – and fun. Rasmus particularly highlights physics and mechanical engineering as subjects where he today draws directly on the knowledge and working methods he learned.

“You learn how to initiate projects, see them through to completion, and assess what works and what doesn't. These are exactly the skills I use in my work now.”

A hobby that took off

His interest in drones began in 2021 when an acquaintance introduced him to FPV drones. Since then, things have gone fast – and today he has over 15 different drones, which he uses for everything from commercial shoots and drone videos for companies to collaborations with production companies and live broadcasts.

“I found that I had both the skills and the interest, and that there was actually a market for it. So I started small – and suddenly I had a business.”

RK Flights is currently behind drone footage for both local businesses and national media. And it's not just the footage, but the entire planning, editing and technical setup that Rasmus has under control.

HTX as a springboard

Running a business requires more than technical skills – and here too, HTX has given him a solid foundation.

“When we worked on reports and projects, we learned how to document, plan, and structure our work. It's worth its weight in gold when you stand on your own.”

He also highlights the freedom and trust he experienced from the teachers:

“We were given the space to experiment and pursue our own ideas. It taught me to take responsibility and make decisions for myself. It definitely gave me the courage to go out on my own.”

Advice for future HTXs

For students who dream of starting something themselves, Rasmus' advice is clear:

“Jump in. The worst that can happen is that you learn something from it. And you do – every time.”
