Air conditioning technology, service and operation

The VENT scheme is a nationwide scheme for companies and technicians who have completed the VENT scheme's training course and have become certified VENT technicians.

The VENT scheme offers service inspections, which are carried out by certified companies. VENT company technicians are specialists with high professional knowledge acquired through further training and who have passed the VENT exam.

The VENT scheme is administered by a committee composed of representatives from FAV, TEKNIQ, the Employers' Association, the Danish Energy Agency, Energy Forum Denmark, the Association of Consulting Engineers, Danish Regions, State Properties and the Danish Technological Institute.

To become a certified VENT technician, you must complete a training course consisting of 3 courses:

Education and qualification requirements

You must have a vocational training in plumbing, ventilation or equivalent vocational training.

If you do not have a qualification as a ventilation service technician, you must have at least 2 years of practical experience in servicing and maintaining ventilation systems.

Installers who have completed the vocational training Climate and Environmental Technician, HVAC and Ventilation Installer or Ventilation Technician can participate directly in the 45000 VENT scheme upskilling and then take the VENT exam. Course content:

Independently determine operating conditions, perform service and establish optimal operating conditions.

Carry out checks on air conditioning and ventilation systems.

Create a maintenance schedule with work descriptions for a current facility.
