Arc welding, Process 111 of difficult nodes - 48744

The participant has knowledge of conditions that are important for the practical application of arc welding (process 111) for welding plate joints, pipes on plates and beams on plates, as well as Y-joints (pipe joints) in the following areas:

  • Welding methods and equipment

  • Materials science / metallurgy

  • Additives

  • Welding defects and control methods

  • Welding sequence and procedure

  • Joint shapes and formation

  • Certification of welders

  • Environment and safety

  • Quality assurance of welding work

  • Heat treatment

Based on the above knowledge and based on requirements, drawings, welding procedure specifications, and oral instructions, participants can independently perform arc welding (process 111) of difficult:

  • Plate nodes

  • Pipe on plate and beam on plate

  • Y-joints (pipe junctions)

The participant can perform the welds in a safe and environmentally correct manner, taking into account elevated working temperatures and the use of string welding techniques in all welding positions in material groups 1.1 + 1.2 + 1.3 + 1.4, according to CR/ISO 15608, in material thicknesses from 15-25 mm.

The participant can also assess the quality of their own work according to the requirements of DS/EN/ISO 5817.

The goal is considered achieved when the participants, based on theoretical knowledge, can perform the following welds with a satisfactory result:

  • BW-P-PE - Butt joint min.15 mm plate, 60° V-joint, inclination 45°.

  • BW-P-PF - Butt joint T-joint min.15 mm plate, 45° 1/2 V-joint.

  • BW-P-PD - Butt joint T-joint min.15 mm plate, 45° 1/2 V-joint.

  • BW-P-PA - Butt joint T-joint min.20 mm plate, 60° back sharpening, plate centering lines: 35°.

  • BW-P-PF - Butt joint T-joint min. 20 mm plate, 60° back sharpening, plate centering lines 35°.

  • BW-P-PF - Butt joint T-connection plate/pipe min.16 mm, 45° 1/2 V-joint.

  • Slab node, beam on slab, slab placed at the bottom in horizontal position, beam 45° inclination, rotation 135°.

  • BW-T-PH. T-joint min. 15mm Pipe/plate 90°, ½ V-joint

  • BW-TH-lo45. T-joint min 15mm pipe/pipe ½ V-joint

  • BW-T-PF. Y-joint min. 15mm plate vertical, pipe 45°, ½ V-joint

Provisions on assessment as a prerequisite for obtaining evidence

An AMU certificate is issued.
