Assembly welding - 48742

Contact us for further details on how to arrange this course.

The participants have knowledge of the following areas that are of practical importance when welding butt seams in pipes with one of the following welding processes: arc welding (process 111), TIG welding (process 141), Gas welding (process 311), MAG welding (process 135) or MAG welding (process 136/138):

  • Welding methods and equipment

  • Materials science

  • Additives

  • Welding defects and control methods

  • Welding sequence and procedure

  • Joint shapes and formation

  • Environment/work environment and safety

  • Certification of welders

Based on the above knowledge as well as the requirements, drawings, welding procedure specifications and oral instructions, the participants can independently perform welds of butt seams in pipes in material group 1.1 + 1.2 + 1.4 + 5.1 + 5.2 + 5.3 + 6.1 + 6.2 + 6.3, cf. CR ISO 15608 in the welding positions mentioned below under difficult-to-access assembly-like conditions.

The goal is considered achieved when the participants, based on theoretical knowledge, can perform the following welds in one of the 5 mentioned welding processes:

  • BW-T-PF pipe, 2-n strings

  • BW-T-PC pipe, 2-n strings

  • BW-T-PC pipe wall, 2-n strings

  • BW-T-PF tube wall, 2-n strings

  • BW-TH-L045 pipe wall, 2-n strings

  • BW-T-PF weldolet, 2-n strings

All practice tasks are carried out on the basis of welding procedure specifications prepared according to applicable DS/EN/ISO standards.

Furthermore, based on theoretical and practical experience, participants can complete the mandatory test described in DS 322, point 4.5, table 3.

The tests must be visually assessed by the teacher.
