Building management system - system knowledge

Learn how to connect sensors and actuators to a building management system.

CTS (Central Condition Management) is a collective term for digital controls that can coordinate a building's diverse energy consumption, such as lighting, ventilation and heating, and contribute to optimizing energy consumption.

In the green transition, there will be an even greater need for intelligent management of buildings' energy consumption, both in individual systems and in multiple interconnected installations such as building management systems.

Course content

  • Connecting sensors and actuators to a building management system.

  • Knowledge of the structure of CTS systems (Central Condition Monitoring and Control)

  • Knowledge of applicable rules and standards for the placement and connection of sensors and actuators to a building management system.

  • Select, place and connect sensors and actuators as active components for a BMS system for heating and ventilation.

  • Knowledge of how the units of a building management system are connected and communicate.

  • Documentation and quality assurance of own work.

  • Knowledge of the connection between CTS and BMS (building management system) and the possibility of optimizing by integrating with other systems.
