Epoxy Safety Certificate - English

After completing the course, the participant will be able to work safely with substances and materials containing epoxy and isocyanates, in accordance with Executive Order No. 381 of April 12, 2023 issued by the Danish Working Environment Authority.

Once the participant has completed the course, he or she will be:

  • informed about the health risks associated with working with products containing epoxy and isocyanates.

  • informed about the substitution principle and any prohibitions on use.

  • able to select and correctly use personal protective equipment and, if required, other safety measures in accordance with instructions for use and code numbers.

  • able to ensure that work with substances and materials is carried out in accordance with the regulations until full curing has been achieved and any danger or other harmful effect on health has ceased.

  • able to ensure that workers other than those carrying out work with the substances and materials are not so close to the work that they may be exposed to health hazards or other harmful effects on health.

  • informed about hygiene precautions and welfare measures.

  • informed about accident and injury treatment and able to provide first aid in the event of exposure to epoxy and isocyanates as well as able to operate an emergency shower and eyewash bottle.

  • informed about the correct disposal of substances and materials containing epoxy and isocyanates.

  • able to ensure that the work area is marked with the correct signs and signals when working with epoxy and isocyanates.

  • The participant is able to work safely with both small and large quantities of epoxy resins and isocyanates. During the practical part of the training, the participant has completed tasks that include product knowledge, the substitution principle, product handling, accident and injury treatment, personal protective equipment and workplace layout.

Johan Upström has many years of professional experience in wind turbine manufacturing and has worked for one of Denmark's largest wind energy companies. This includes five years of teaching experience with a focus on safety, process skills and materials technology.
