When registering, it appears that the course ends on 25.11.2026, which is due to a technical limitation in the system, as the course runs over a year-end. The participant simply has to register for the specified period, and Techcollege will subsequently automatically extend to the correct course period.
Since the course runs over a year-end period, fees will also be charged for two course periods: one for the subjects in 2026 and one for the subjects in 2027. Reservations are made for small price adjustments in relation to the Finance Act 2026/2027.
If you are employed and have education up to and including skilled level, your employer can receive VEU compensation during the course up to DKK 1,017 per day (2026 rate). If you are more than 60 km from your home to the school, you/your employer can receive a subsidy for accommodation in Aalborg of up to DKK 600 per day and in addition a subsidy for transport.
Read more about your subsidy options on this page.
Economy
The vast majority of courses at Techcollege are AMU courses. AMU is an abbreviation for ArbejdsMarkedsUddannelse and is a competency-based adult education. You can participate in AMU courses under advantageous conditions because the Ministry of Education provides financial support. Read about your options below.
If you are employed or self-employed, and if you have education up to and including skilled level, the following applies:
The course price can be seen under the individual course. You or your employer must pay the low rate. You can obtain VEU compensation (wage loss compensation) of DKK 1,017 per day, equivalent to the full unemployment benefit rate (2026 rate). A maximum of VEU compensation can be obtained for 10 weeks of AMU courses within a 12-month period, and a maximum of VEU compensation can be obtained up to 3 times for the same AMU target within a 12-month period. If you are more than 60 km from your home to the school, you can get a subsidy for food and accommodation at a CVR-registered accommodation. You must book and pay for food and accommodation yourself. After the course, you can get a refund of up to DKK 600 per day for documented expenses. This is done via Skolernas Digitale BlanketFlow: www.sdbf.dk. In addition, a subsidy for your transport (regardless of the means of transport) of DKK 1.12 per km is provided after the first 24 km. This is applied for together with the VEU allowance.
If you are employed or self-employed, and have a short higher education or higher education, the following applies:
The course price can be seen under the individual course. You or your employer must pay the high rate. There is no subsidy from the Ministry of Education, therefore the full course price is charged. There is no possibility of VEU compensation (wage loss compensation), and accommodation, meals and transport are at your own expense.
If you have not used your higher education within the past 5 years, it is considered obsolete, and you can therefore apply for a subsidy for food and accommodation as well as VEU compensation (see the instructions above under "education up to and including skilled level"). However, you must still pay the full course price.
If you are unemployed and entitled to 6 weeks of job-oriented training, the following applies:
As an unemployed person with the right to 6 weeks of job-oriented training, you can participate in AMU courses free of charge. When registering, you must provide TECHCOLLEGE with contact information for the unemployment insurance fund that will grant you the desired courses. If you are more than 60 km from your home to the school, you are entitled to a subsidy for food and accommodation at a CVR-registered accommodation. You must book and pay for food and accommodation yourself. After the course, you can be reimbursed up to DKK 600 per day for documented expenses. This is done via Skolernas Digitale BlanketFlow: www.sdbf.dk . You can also apply for a subsidy for your transport (regardless of means of transport) of DKK 1.12 per km after the first 24 km. This is applied for on form AB421, which must be submitted to your unemployment insurance fund.
If you are unemployed and are taking training as part of a job plan, the following applies:
As an unemployed person who wants to participate in training as part of a job plan, you can participate in AMU courses free of charge. When registering, you must provide TECHCOLLEGE with the contact information of your job center caseworker, who will grant you the desired courses. If you are more than 60 km from your home to the school, you must make an agreement with your Job Center before the course starts to grant and pay for your expenses for food and accommodation. You can also apply for a subsidy for your transport (regardless of the means of transport) of DKK 1.12 per km after the first 24 km. This is applied for on form AB421, which must be submitted to your unemployment insurance fund. You will find a link to the form here: https://info.jobnet.dk/blanketter
Financing via Competence Development Funds
The competence funds are an initiative in most collective agreements that may mean that your employer has already indirectly paid for the course! You can apply for a subsidy for continuing education via competence funds. The funds are a result of the collective agreement renewal and provide the opportunity to apply for a subsidy for self-selected continuing education and training. You can spend up to two weeks a year on self-selected education, and you can apply to the competence funds for a subsidy for course fees, salary reimbursement and accommodation. Ask about the options at your workplace.
