Occupational health and safety, welding/thermal

Goal:

You will learn about relevant working environment impacts, health risks and measures for welding and thermal cutting (plasma cutting, laser cutting and flame cutting), including the requirements in the Danish Working Environment Authority's Executive Order No. 1795 of 18 December 2015 on measures to prevent the risk of cancer when working with substances and materials.

You will gain theoretical knowledge about working environment conditions, rules and requirements that are important for welding and thermal cutting, as well as grinding in connection with this, in the following areas:

1. Air pollution from welding, thermal cutting and grinding, including:

· Smoke, dust and gases

· The type and amount of contamination, depending on the process

2. Health risks from air pollution, including:

· Irritation of the respiratory tract and skin

Chronic bronchitis

Asthma

· Manganism

· Cancer

· Reproductive damage

Allergy

· Limit values

· Reporting work-related illnesses and injuries

The training ends with a theoretical exam.

 

Target group:

Unskilled and skilled

The training is mandatory according to the Danish Working Environment Authority's Executive Order No. 908 of 27 September 2005 on measures to prevent the risk of cancer when working with substances and materials.
