Education in this field
As an IT support or data technician, you work with technical solutions, troubleshooting, systems and user experiences. You learn to understand, build and maintain IT environments, and you are trained to find errors, create an overview and advise users in a professional and safe manner.
The education allows you to choose the direction that suits you best — from customer support to programming, networking or cybersecurity.
As a graphic technician, you work with the entire process from a digital file to a finished printed product. You learn to set up machines, prepare files, choose materials and ensure that everything is printed in the right quality. The work combines technique, precision and understanding of both digital and traditional printing methods, and you become an important part of making visual materials work in reality.
As a web developer, you work to create digital solutions that work in practice — from simple websites to more advanced web-based systems. You learn to program user interfaces, structure content, and build features that make the solution easy to use.
The subject combines logic, creativity and technical understanding, and you learn to translate ideas into concrete digital products.
As a media graphic designer, you work with visual communication — from idea and layout to finished printed or digital solutions. You learn to develop design, adapt expression, work with target groups and use professional programs to make a visual expression work. The subject combines structure, aesthetics and technical understanding, and you learn to translate requirements and needs into graphic material that can be used in practice.
How to start the training
When you begin, you start with the basic course. Here you get an introduction to programs, tools, design principles and IT methods that are common in the different subjects. This gives you a solid base before you choose a direction.
Basic course 1 – for those coming directly from primary school
You will be introduced to different areas within IT and digital media. You will work on smaller tasks that give you a sense of how to think, build and design digital solutions.
Basic course 2 – when you have chosen your education
The teaching will be geared towards the education you have chosen. You will work more purposefully with the techniques, processes and tools that belong to the subject, and you will be prepared for both the internship and the main course.

If you come directly from primary school
If you come directly from the 9th or 10th grade of primary school, you must start with Basic Course 1 (GF1) and choose one of our majors. GF1 always starts in August. Register at optagelse.dk up to six months before the start of your studies.
If you don't come directly from primary school
If it has been between ½ and 2 years since you finished primary school, you decide for yourself whether you want to start with GF1 or GF2.
If you are not coming straight from the 9th or 10th grade, you can start with Basic Course 2 (GF2). You must also start with GF2 if you have an apprenticeship (a training agreement) in a company before you start.
GF2 typically starts in August and January, but this can vary from program to program. A clear exception is the EUX programs, where GF2 only starts in January. Some of our programs also start in October and April. Some of our programs have access restrictions, where you must meet special criteria to enter or apply for a quota place.
No. The IT, web and media major cannot be taken as EUX.
