This major is a comprehensive course where you are introduced to several different subjects within lifestyle and health. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to work in creative, service-oriented and healthcare environments and learn the fundamental techniques that each subject is based on.
You will try out different areas in practice – from hair and skin to anatomy, service and customer contact – and get a clear sense of which areas motivate you the most. This makes it easier to choose the education that suits your interests and the way you work.

Education in this field
In a dental clinic, it is very important that things are done calmly, safely and systematically. As a dental clinic assistant, you help create the structure that makes the treatment safe for both patient and dentist. You learn to work precisely, keep an overview and support the team in the many tasks that make a clinic function. It is a profession where professionalism, cooperation and consideration are a big part of everyday life.
As a beautician, you work with professional treatments, product understanding and advice. You learn to create results that are based on professional knowledge, precision and attention to detail. It is a profession where technique and aesthetics meet, and where skill comes from routine, overview and a sure hand. At the same time, you learn to read situations, choose the right methods and create a pleasant and structured experience for the customer.
As a hairdresser, you work creatively and professionally at the same time. You use your techniques, your eye for detail and your ability to understand the customer's wishes. You learn to create results that are safe, well-considered and adapted to the individual. It is a profession where you develop through training, professional knowledge and close contact with customers in everyday life.
How to start the training
When you begin, you start with the basic course. Here you will receive an introduction to the techniques, materials and working environments that characterize the subjects. This gives you a secure base before choosing a direction.
Basic course 1 – for those coming directly from primary school
You will try out different areas within beauty, health and service. You will work with smaller, concrete exercises and be introduced to the most central methods and routines in the subjects.
Basic course 2 – when you have chosen your education
The teaching becomes more targeted. You delve deeper into the techniques and processes that belong to your particular education, and you are prepared for both the internship and the main course.

In the field of Lifestyle and Health, you work with subject areas where service, people and health are at the center. You learn to plan and carry out tasks professionally and with a focus on quality, precision and good customer service.
You also work with topics such as working environment, hygiene and healthy lifestyle, and you learn the importance of your own health, working position and everyday life for your working life.
The teaching also includes the basic subject Danish, which must be passed in order to continue on to the main course. Here you will work with, among other things:

The teaching alternates between theory and practical tasks. Your everyday life takes place in:

Here you work on tasks related to the subject areas.
Through cases and problems, you work with situations that may arise in a future workplace. You work individually, in pairs and in teams and learn to plan and solve tasks in collaboration with others.
In the salon and clinic, you train in, among other things, servicing customers and patients, and you work with professional language and communication.
Your teachers are in constant dialogue with you about your strengths and talents, so that the teaching can be adapted to your level and help you move forward towards your choice of education.
When you have completed Basic Course 1 in the field of Lifestyle and Health, you will have gained experience with several subjects and work areas within the field.
This makes it easier to choose which vocational training you want to continue with afterwards – and you are better equipped to understand and collaborate with other professions when you later start your apprenticeship.

If you come directly from primary school
If you come directly from the 9th or 10th grade of primary school, you must start with Basic Course 1 (GF1) and choose one of our majors. GF1 always starts in August. Register at optagelse.dk up to six months before the start of your studies.
If you don't come directly from primary school
If it has been between ½ and 2 years since you finished primary school, you decide for yourself whether you want to start with GF1 or GF2.
If you are not coming straight from the 9th or 10th grade, you can start with Basic Course 2 (GF2). You must also start with GF2 if you have an apprenticeship (a training agreement) in a company before you start.
GF2 typically starts in August and January, but this can vary from program to program. A clear exception is the EUX programs, where GF2 only starts in January. Some of our programs also start in October and April. Some of our programs have access restrictions, where you must meet special criteria to enter or apply for a quota place.
No. The subject area Lifestyle and Health cannot be taken as EUX.
