GWO Blade Repair

Wind turbine blades are exposed to heavy loads from weather, wind and operation every day. This places high demands on inspection, maintenance and repair – and on the technicians who carry out the work.

We offer courses within GWO Blade Repair, where technicians build the skills required to work safely and professionally with wind turbine blade repairs. The teaching combines theory and practical work with composite materials, methods and tools used in the industry.

The courses are aimed at both new and experienced technicians who want to strengthen their skills in blade repair. From basic repairs to more complex structural damage.

Personal safety with increased risk isocyanates - 1 day

NOTE! The course is conducted in Danish. Learn to work in a fully safe and healthful manner within work areas that may involve an increased risk of exposure to isocyanates. The course must be recertified every 5 years.

Personal safety when working with epoxy and isocyanates - 2 days

NOTE! The course is conducted in Danish. Get the statutory epoxy certificate. Gain basic knowledge and skills for safe work with epoxy and isocyanates in accordance with the Danish Working Environment Authority's Executive Order No. 381 of April 12, 2023. The focus is on health risks, correct handling, use of protective equipment and prevention of accidents and exposure.

Finishing and repairing epoxy composite parts - 8 days

Prepreg molding of fiber composite parts - 10 days

Learn to produce high-quality fiber composite parts using prepreg technology. In the course, you will work with prepreg fiber materials (Prepreg) and learn to independently produce parts in both solid and sandwich-structured laminates of fiberglass and carbon fiber with epoxy matrix.

RTM vacuum casting of fiberglass composite parts - 10 days

Learn how to manufacture glass fiber reinforced composite parts using RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) vacuum injection molding. In the course, you will gain insight into materials, process equipment and methods so that you can plan, document and implement a controlled and efficient vacuum molding process.

Epoxy Safety Certificate - participants without Danish CPR

Note! The course is conducted in English. Obtain the mandatory epoxy certificate. Gain basic knowledge and skills for working safely with epoxy and isocyanates in accordance with the Danish Working Environment Authority's Executive Order No. 381 of 12 April 2023. The course focuses on health risks, proper handling, use of personal protective equipment, and the prevention of accidents and exposure.

Polyester Safety Certificate - participants without Danish CPR

Note! The course is conducted in English. This course provides participants with practical skills and knowledge of health hazards when working with glass fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester. Participants will be able to take part in polyester moulding, including filling and finishing, in accordance with Danish Working Environment Authority requirements. The course also focuses on the safe use of materials, equipment, and personal protective equipment based on safety data sheets and relevant legislation.

GWO Blade Repair - 10 days

Note! The course is conducted in English. This GWO Blade Repair course provides participants with the basic skills and knowledge to safely inspect and repair wind turbine blades. It focuses on identifying risks, working safely with composite materials, and using the correct equipment and personal protective equipment. Upon completion, participants will be able to perform and document basic blade inspections and repairs in accordance with industry standards.
