Special Educational Support (SPS)
Extra support when you need it
At Techcollege, challenges should not stand in the way of your education.
If you are dyslexic, dyslexic, have a physical disability or a mental health diagnosis, you can receive special educational support (SPS). The support helps give you the same opportunities to develop professionally as everyone else.
It's about creating the right framework for you to succeed. We believe in the potential within you.
What is SPS?
SPS stands for special educational support. This means that we can apply for aids and support classes that compensate for the challenges you have.
The support is adapted to your everyday life and your education and can be, for example:
One-on-one conversations with an SPS supervisor
Support in teaching or in small groups
Reading and writing programs
Help with structure and planning
The goal is clear: that you can focus on your profession and develop yourself.

Who can get support?
If you are dyslexic, we can apply for a reading and writing program for you and help you with access to Nota, where you can download textbooks and audiobooks in digital form.
You can also get support classes, and if you haven't already been tested, you can get dyslexia tested at Techcollege.
If you suspect dyslexia, we offer an investigative screening.
If you have specific math difficulties, you can get targeted support so that you get the help that suits the mathematical requirements of your education.
If you have a mental health diagnosis, you can get support for structure, overview and planning – and conversations about what challenges you in everyday school life.
We take your situation as a starting point and find solutions that work in practice.
If you have a physical disability, we can apply for relevant aids, such as:
Ergonomic special chairs or height-adjustable desks
Interpretation assistance
Help with taking notes
The most important thing is that the framework suits you.
If you receive SPS, in some cases extra support may be provided during exams or tests, if deemed necessary. The purpose is to ensure that you are assessed on your professional skills, and not on your challenges.
How to get started
In order to apply for SPS, we need documentation. This can be, for example:
A report from psychiatry
An opinion from a specialist doctor
Documentation of dyslexia
We can only apply for support once you have been finally admitted to Techcollege, but please contact us as early as possible so that we can discuss your needs and prepare the application.
If you are under 18 years of age, we must also involve your parents or guardian.
