Biogenic building techniques and processes in carpentry

Course content:

This course is designed for carpenters who want to expand their knowledge and skills in sustainable construction. Upon completion of the course, you will have:

- Practical skills: You can perform various construction tasks with biogenic materials.

- Theoretical knowledge: You have a solid understanding of sustainable construction and building physics.

- Knowledge of LCA and EPD: You can work with life cycle analyses and environmental product declarations.

- Updated knowledge: You are up to date on the latest trends and technologies within biogenic building technology.

Target group:

The course is primarily aimed at employees with industry experience.

Goal:

The participant:

- Can work with various biogenic materials such as: wood fiber, straw, hemp, grass and paper.

- Can work with building physics in biogenic materials and constructions, such as: Moisture, fire, sound and U-values.

- Can perform lightweight decks as joist layers on screw foundations.

- Can perform diffusion-open constructions in external walls and roofs.

- Can perform exterior roofing work with biogenic materials.

- Can work with climate-friendly construction processes in planning work tasks, such as: material selection, waste optimization, recycling, transportation and energy consumption.

- Has knowledge of LCA and EPD.

- Can work with and gain knowledge about safety, environmental conditions and working environment according to current legislation/recommendations.

- Can use and gain knowledge about correct work techniques and use recommended (statutory) aids and protective equipment.
