Reuse and recycling in the construction industry

Course content:

In the course you will learn to assess whether specific demolition materials can be reused or recycled and subsequently handle them correctly until they are reused or sent for recycling. You will learn to use Material Passports and EPDs and to assess the sustainability level of a recycled material based on any EPDs, the material pyramid, material atlas and your own knowledge. There is also a focus on guiding the customer in reuse and recycling and contributing to the reduction of waste through prevention, recovery and reuse.

Target group:

The course is primarily aimed at employees with industry experience.

Goal:

The participant can:

- in connection with demolition or renovation, assess whether specific demolition materials can be reused or recycled, and subsequently handle these correctly until the materials are reused or sent for recycling.

- use Material Passports and EPDs.

- assess the sustainability level of a recycled material based on possible EPDs, the material pyramid, material atlas and own knowledge.

- install concrete recycled materials correctly based on relevant instructions and guidelines.

- guide the customer in the reuse and recycling of building materials in smaller construction projects.

- contribute to waste reduction through prevention, recycling and reuse.

- contribute to social, economic and environmentally sustainable development on the construction site.
