MAG weld stainless, heavy plate Process 135 or 136

The participants have knowledge of matters that are important for the practical application of either welding process 135 or welding process 136, in the following areas:

  • Environment/work environment and safety

  • Welding methods and equipment

  • Materials science

  • Additives

  • Handling of stainless steel

  • Joint shapes and formation

  • Welding technology

  • Visual assessment of welds

  • Welding defects and control methods

 

Based on the above knowledge and based on the requirements, drawings, welding procedure specifications and oral instructions, the participants can independently perform welding of edge seams and butt seams with either the welding method MAG welding welding process 135 in material thicknesses of 4 - 10 mm or MAG welding welding process 136 in material thicknesses of 8 - 15 mm in material group 8.1 + 8.2 + 9.2 + 9.3 + 10.1 + 10.2, cf. CR/ISO 15608.

The goal is considered achieved when the participant can perform the following welds with process 135:

  • FW - P- PB 2-n strings

  • FW - P- PF 2-n strings

  • FW - P- PD 2-n strings

  • BW - P- PA 2-n strings

  • BW - P- PF 2-n strings

  • BW - P- PC 2-n strings

 

Or the following welds with process 136:

  • FW - P- PB 2-n strings

  • FW - P - PF 2-n strings

  • FW - P- PD 2-n strings

  • BW - P- PA 2-n strings

  • BW - P - PF 2-n strings

  • BW - P- PC 2-n strings

All welding is carried out on the basis of welding procedure specifications prepared according to applicable DS/EN/ISO standards.”
