13U at Techcollege

A course at Techcollege that prepares young people aged 18-29 to start a vocational training course. A referral from the Job Center is required to start the course.

Three professional courses

There are three different professional courses at Techcollege that you can choose from: Food/Agriculture, Construction and Metal/Transport. All teaching takes place in an authentic study environment. The course lasts 13 weeks (hence the name 13U) and has continuous enrollment. This means that in principle there is a “first day of school” every Monday.

There are 6 modules of a total duration of 11 weeks in the school's workshops and subsequently the possibility of a 2-week company internship. We can have up to 20 young people on each course.

Basic course

In addition to the three professional courses, a Basic course is offered, where there is a strong focus on a safe and recognizable framework. Here, you meet every morning in the same room and the mentor presents the day's tasks. The content is planned individually with the young person and can be of both a professional, academic and creative nature. There is a focus on vocational readiness and how to move closer to the labor market or education.

Everyday life at 13U

For all four courses, you can strengthen your skills in Danish and mathematics. Across the courses, we hold ongoing social events outside of regular school hours. The events are free for the young people and participation is voluntary. Among other things, we go to the stadium, hold movie nights or cook together. Excursions to companies and cultural institutions are also part of the content.

There is a holiday in weeks 28-30 and between Christmas and New Year.

The courses primarily focus on the programs at Techcollege where job opportunities are best. You try the subjects yourself and gain knowledge about the program and the profession - and hopefully this will inspire you to start Basic Program 2 or take the New Master's Apprenticeship.

As part of the course, there is the opportunity to do an internship. This can be in school training or in a company of your choice and is not limited by the relevant education courses on the course.
