There are many further education opportunities with Media Design.

Media design is an obvious choice for those who dream of working creatively with communication, design and digital media – and perhaps studying further as:

• (Photo)journalist

• Graphic designer (and many other types of designer)

• Web designer

• Multimedia designer

• Communications officer

• Production designer

The application deadline is March 1st at 12:00. If you apply later, you will have to take an entrance exam, even if you meet all admission requirements. You will receive a response to your application in April.

In 8th grade, you must have an average of 5.0 in your final standing grades to meet the academic requirements to be assessed as educationally ready for upper secondary school. The educational readiness assessment also includes your personal and social qualifications.

In 9th grade, you must have an average of 5.0 in your final standing grades to continue to meet the academic requirements to be assessed as educationally ready for high school.

For the final exam, you must pass and confirm your academic level from the UPV in the statutory exams in order to be able to go directly to high school.

If you are not considered ready for education and have an average of less than 6.0 in the statutory tests from the primary school leaving exam, you have the opportunity to apply for admission via a professional entrance exam and interview.

There are various alternatives for the few who do not confirm their level at the final exam. Contact UU or a study advisor to find out more about these.

When you choose Media Design, you get a combination of mandatory subjects and the opportunity to choose your own.

At Media Design you must choose one of the following options:

• either a level-up

• or two new subjects at C level

What is a level-up?
A level increase means that you take one of your subjects at a higher level than what is already in the field of study.

For example, you have Mathematics at B level. If you choose Mathematics A as a remedial course, you will complete the subject at A level instead.

You can choose to lift:

• Physics for A-level

• Chemistry for A-level

• English to A-level

• Mathematics for A-level

• Technology for A-level

• Social studies at B-level

• German (continued) C

What can you choose as a new C subject?
If you choose a C subject instead, you will get a completely new subject on your schedule.

• Media Subject C
