Psycare (ERASMUS+ KA2 Partnership): 2025-2027
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT?
The project is a partnership between Godalen VGS (Stavanger, Norway) and seven other partners, including Techcollege. The partnership spans a total of seven European countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Spain, Cyprus, and Ukraine.
The aim of the project is to develop, test, and translate/adapt—for future use across all participating countries—a training module for hairdressing education. This module focuses on equipping students and trainees to handle client interactions that involve discussions of difficult personal topics. The project seeks to address a growing psychological challenge faced by professionals in the hairdressing industry (and similar personal service sectors): the expectation that they listen to and engage with clients' personal challenges and private problems, regardless of how traumatic these may be. This creates a mental burden that can, over time, be detrimental to the professional's psychological well-being and health. Through the developed training module, the project therefore aims to provide professionals with the tools to manage these conversations and the associated mental strain.
