The specially designed course
HTX
HTX
Your 4-year course
It is a specially designed 4-year program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other students who are eligible for special educational support (SPS) and who need extra time and structure in their education.
In the basic course, the team consists exclusively of students who have applied for the specially designed course.
After the basic course, you choose which field of study you want to continue in: The World of Physics with MATHS A and PHYSICS A or Gametech with COM/IT A and PROGRAMMING B. You will be in an ordinary class, but with fewer hours per week.
In both fields of study, there will be support in the subjects to the greatest extent possible and where it makes sense.
You will be assigned your own SPS supervisor, who will support your schooling through individual conversations and participation in classes.
We hold an interview prior to admission to the 4-year program.
You are always welcome to contact the student guidance office for a chat and to get your questions answered.

Admission requirements after 9th grade
If you apply to HTX after 9th grade, you have the right to be admitted if you meet the admission requirements. This is officially called having a legal right to admission. The right is valid for up to two years after you have completed 9th grade.
Basically, you must:
apply via Optagelse.dk no later than March 1st at 12 noon
have had German or French in 6th-9th grade
have at least a 5.0 average in your final standing grades
have taken the compulsory primary school exams
have passed the primary school leaving exam
have at least a 5.0 average in the statutory tests.
Admission requirements after 10th grade
If you did not meet the admission requirements after 9th grade, you can still do so after 10th grade. Here, your right to admission applies for up to one year after you have completed 10th grade.
Basically, you must:
apply via Optagelse.dk no later than March 1st at 12 noon
have had German or French in 6th-9th grade
have received instruction in Danish, English and mathematics in 10th grade
have at least a 5.0 average in your final 10th grade standing grades
have taken the compulsory primary school exams in 9th grade
have passed the primary school leaving exam
have taken the 9th or 10th grade exam in Danish and mathematics in 10th grade
have taken a 10th grade English exam
have at least a 5.0 average in the statutory tests.
What if you don't meet all the entry requirements?
Even if you do not meet all the requirements above, you may still have a chance of being admitted to HTX. This depends on your grades, among other things, and in some cases you will have to attend a guidance interview or an admissions test and interview.
What if my average is below 5.0?
If you have at least a 5.0 average in your standing grades, but below 5.0 in the statutory tests, you may still be entitled to admission:
If you have at least a 3.0 average in the statutory tests, you are entitled to admission.
If you have a GPA between 2.0 and 3.0, you will have to attend a guidance interview with the head of the upper secondary school. Once the interview is completed, you are eligible for admission.
If you have an average of less than 5.0 in your standing grades, you may also be entitled to admission if you get at least 6.0 in average in the statutory tests.
In all cases, you must meet the other admission requirements.
What are the statutory tests?
The legally required tests are the test in a practical/music elective in 8th grade as well as the tests in oral Danish, written Danish, written mathematics and the joint test in physics/chemistry, biology and geography in 9th grade.
The oral selection test in grade 9 counts towards the average for the primary school leaving exam, but not towards the average for the statutory tests.
What grades count after 10th grade?
When searching for 10th grade, test scores from 9th and 10th grade can in some cases be combined if it is to your advantage.
When calculating the average in the statutory tests, the highest relevant grades you have received in the 9th or 10th grade are used.
This only applies to test grades. When it comes to grade points, it is your final grade points from 10th grade that count.
What applies after an exam-free 10th year of school?
If you take an exam-free 10th year of school – or if you choose not to take exams in Danish, English and mathematics – you cannot be entitled to admission based on your 10th grade.
If you have already met the admission requirements after 9th grade, your right to admission still applies for up to two years after you completed 9th grade.
What if I don't meet the entry requirements?
If you do not meet the admission requirements, it does not necessarily mean that you cannot enter HTX.
You may instead be assessed on the basis of an entrance exam and an interview. Here, the high school makes an overall assessment of your academic, social and personal qualifications to begin and complete the education.
For an overview of mandatory subjects and electives, you can see the options at Fysikkens Verden and GAMETECH.
